The Rhythm of Sustainable Changemaking

Born from a decade of youth climate organising and the slow, quiet nature of the Scottish Highlands, this book explores why so many of us burn out while trying to do good. It serves as a bridge between the urgency of our external crisis and the necessary depth of our inner restoration.

Through 'Act, Rest, Reset, Repeat', I offer a guideposts for activists, leaders, and caregivers. The eight guideposts correlate to the 8-step programme devised by my organisation, The Resilience Project, validated by research from our partners at Stanford and Imperial College London.

A manifesto for a new kind of activism, which acknowledges that we cannot heal a fragmented world while living fragmented lives, inviting you to step into a lifelong rhythm that sustains both you and the movements you lead.

Praise for Act, Rest, Reset, Repeat.

"We don’t have to choose between exhaustion and defeat. We can burn brightly without burning out. Act, Rest, Reset, Repeat is a life path combining deeper personal satisfaction with more effective contribution to our world.”

Dr. Chris Johnstone, co-author of 'Active Hope'

"Act, Rest, Reset, Repeat feels like a meaningful embrace with someone who truly gets what it means to care this much. Katie Hodgetts offers powerful learnings, showing that we can fight for the world we need without abandoning the parts of ourselves that make us human, hopeful, and alive."

Tori Tsui, Activist and Author

"Her very moving personal experience, and painfully acquired wisdom, make AR3 an invaluable insight into the world of climate campaigning, as well as a brilliant support for all those involved in this great work”
